PRESS RELEASES…FREE PUBLICITY...Powerful For Your Business
I want to be clear right from the "git go"…. Publicity works. It costs you nothing. Publicity gets your business seen by thousands of people…and…it gives you the kind of branding and recognition that paid advertising just can’t buy, however big your marketing budget.
Publicity works…because…it is based on one very simple formula. That being….if you help the press, the press will help you.
That’s it. As long as you follow the above simple rule, you’ll find it a breeze to get your business in the press.
There’s no two ways about it. Publicity can be fun. As a way of promoting your business, there are few methods more enjoyable than sitting in a TV or Radio studio and chatting about your favorite subject or opening a newspaper and seeing your picture beaming back at you.
I’ve been using publicity for my own businesses for a number of years and I still get a kick and much laughter from it.
But that’s not why I use publicity….I use publicity for one purpose and one purpose only, and you should too. That purpose is to make money. Publicity makes me money and it will make you money too!
Whenever I get my business in the press, I get sales ….and you will too. At times it may be a small number of sales. Other times, I get streams of sales that come in so fast, I can barely keep my products and services flowing out the door fast enough.
Publicity will always generate sales simply by putting your name and your business in front of the market. When you really know how to use publicity, you’ll find that there’s a whole range of different strategies and techniques you can use to persuade listeners and readers to call up and come around to do business with you.
One very simple method you can use-is-to make sure that every interview you give includes an offer to your listeners and readers.
When you hand out extra value to an exclusive group of people, you make them feel special. That makes them more likely to call or visit your business and buy.
It also makes the reporters very grateful. In addition to giving their audience an interesting story, they also get to give them a bargain.
By doing so, that means….that you….get more sales again in the future. Simple, right?
But publicity doesn’t just put money in your pocket as soon as the story comes out. It also changes the way people think about your business.
I call this …. "The Halo Effect".
"The Halo Effect"…is that…publicity gives you instant credibility!
The media provides their audiences with two kinds of information. They have advertisements that tell people about businesses and they have news stories that tells people what’s happening in their area.
Most readers and listeners don’t pay much attention to the advertisements. They know that for a business to place an advertisement in a newspaper, magazine, etc - all it takes is a signed check.
Sure, people might glance at the ad. But unless an ad leaps out at them, few people are likely to remember it.
When a business is mentioned on the news pages though, that is a whole different ball game.
Most people believe its almost impossible to get a write up in the media. They feel that reporters only write about hard news and they assume you have to have something really special before the press will pay any attention to them.
They don’t realize that actually reporters are desperate for stories and they’ll write about two cats up a tree if they can find a way to make it interesting.
That means when people read about you, your business in the media, they’re automatically impressed. You’re not just another car repair center, restaurant, or whatever it may be. You’re the town’s auto repair center, the town’s restaurant, or whatever the business may be.
That’s a huge difference.
The next time someone is thinking about having their car repaired, they won’t bother to open the "Yellow Pages". They won’t need to. They’ll remember the article in the paper and they will think of you.
The next time people want to go out to dinner, your restaurant will be the first one that comes to mind.
The point is whatever business gets their name in front of the media and masses in the form of a news story will be the business that is remembered.
Whatever your line of business, publicity gives you the kind of "halo" that no advertisement can ever buy.
When you use publicity to promote your business, you don’t just get new sales right away - you get new sales for a long time to come.
Publicity gives your business a "Halo Effect" that makes it stand out in your community, in your state, and across your entire country.
Your business needs all the help you can give it. Why not give it some free publicity and see your sales "skyrocket".
Publicity goes right along with "Word of Mouth Marketing". Use it to your advantage and make your business go viral.
